What is the difference between Xpress and Xpress Start-Up?

Xpress can work on a network up to 3 users and there is no limit to how many companies you can create. Xpress Start-Up cannot be used on a network; one user only, and only one company can be created.

What does error 20 mean?

It means that Pastel cannot connect to its database server: PervasiveSQL. Ensure that Pervasive is running and if you are on a network also make sure that you can connect to your server. Conflicting files from different versions of Pervasive or no valid Pervasive licenses could also prevent Pastel from connecting to Pervasive. Make sure that no firewall is blocking "database service manager" or port 1433. If Pastel is being used on a network make sure that the server is logged on and that Pervasive is running.

What is Evolution?

What are LHITS's rates?

Up to R350/hour depending on the job.

How often should I make backups?

Make at least one backup for every day that you work on Pastel. So, if you work on Pastel 5 days a week, then you will make a minimum of 5 backups: 1 on every working day in that week. If you do too much work in one day for it to realistically be redone then make backups more than once per day.

How do I backup to CD or DVD?

Make a backup to your hard drive first (make it in a folder with that days date as its name) and then write the backup folder to an optical disc.

How do I setup a custom paper size in WindowsXP?

Open you printers and faxes folder. Go to server properties (under the file menu) and check 'create new form'. Give the form a name, fill in its size (usually 21.6cm x 21.6cm) and click the save form button. Go to the properties of the driver, click on printing properties then advanced and change the paper size. Click ok until you're back at the main window for the driver properties. Go to the advanced tab and click on the printing defaults button. Follow the same procedure as before.
